Andrew Thornton Warrior Stone Challenge

Today is the reveal of the Warrior Stone Challenge, Sponsored by Andrew Thornton from Allegory Gallery in PA.  You purchase one of 20 kits and create.  Here is the kit I purchased.  It contains Czech glass old and new, Vintage acrylic, Labradorite gemstone strand.  The Luxury blend consists of Japanese Miyuki seed beads, Toho seed beads, Japanese Matsuno seed beads, freshwater pearls, glass pearls, Czech glass,Labradorite stone, base metal, Vintage sequins,German glass, Jade, Swarovski crystals, vintage lucite and vintage glass.

Here is a picture of the Luxury Blend
and the Mystery Focal created by Andrew

Here I am seperating my little bead packet trying to get some inspiration for this design
Lets make us some earrings
Then I had this clever idea about trying to sew the chips onto a piece of brass. Of course that was easier said then done.  I always want something a little funky for myself and I like Labradorite.  I have a Gray dress that I always wear a black or white necklace with, so it will be great havibg a Gray one. Working Monochromatic color scheme (never) was in and of itself a challenge for me. I just couldn't do it. You know I am the vintage girl and they always wore some Pearls didn't they? lol.  So I attached Andrew's secret Artbead to my Brass Tag.  Using 24 gaug wire, I stitched the bead mix onto my Vintage Luggage Tag stamping that I purchased from B'sue Boutique it is one of my favorite Stampings.
I then made a chain out of more of the mix and Pearls

Artsy to say the least. Well this is a Hop so jump over to Andrew's blog and see what everyone has created.  Remember "Wear Vintage, Its New Again"

Pine Ridge Favorite Things Challenge

Today is the reveal of the Favorite Things Blog Hop and Challenge
I use My I phone as my camera and lately my photo's haven't been publishing right side up.  I am having real issues and may have to get a camera Black Friday, I digress. Anyway A grateful Artist, Lisa Lodge who is the Hostess sent participants a kit of Beady items that are her favorites. We are also allowed to use our stash.
My kit copper findings Pearls and Jasper Nuggets
Loved those beautiful pearls and decided they needed to be clustered. From My stash I added Glass Spectra beads. Now, I must say, I expected a Kit of Sea Glass.  I thought that Sea glass was her Favorite thing, because I discovered Sea glass from her through her facebook group.
Glass pearls,Czech glass beads and Spectra bead dangles

I took the dangles and Jasper and created this bracelet using Copper Wire.I also made the Copper Clasp.

Now one of my favorite things are Cameo's. I always set my Cameo in Brass mounts.  This one from B'sue Boutiques as well as the Spectra beads.  So I took this gorgeous glass domed Cameo Lady and added some of these dangles

In my stash of Gemstones which are my favorites things, lol  I have some Aqua Terra Jasper. That matched the ribbons on the lady in the cameo. Lisa's Czech glass beads and Pearls complimented her gown beautifully and made for a great composition for my Necklace.

The lighting not so good.  We been expierencing some rain in New York this week. I love this Jasper.  It is Aqua in coloring with Sand/Tan colored veining. This is a bold Statement piece and I hope you like it.

Now I am going to hop around to the other participants in this Hop. Please drop me a line, come back for a visit  and "Wear Vintage its New Again"

Art Bead Scene August Challenge

This months challenge come from a Wool woven Rug by Hosteen Klah titled Summer Thunder. Using Red as a design element in my Jewelry is not my strong point.  I use it almost like, Never. Lol that being said, I attended Beadfest this year and went straight to Artisan Alley where all the Handmade components, Jewelry and Artisans are.  I found the perfect Colored Ceramic focal by Artisan Lisa Peter's
A Nice Chunky focal 2 X 2 inches.  I wire wrapped and attached some nice Smoky Quartz for the neck chain along with some red sea glass from Znet shows I had in my stash.

Lately I seem to be having issues uploading my pictures.  They upload backwards, upside down, rightside left, I apologise.  I'm trying to meet the deadline for the Challenge and will continue to try and get better pictures.  I so wanted you to see this lovely chunky Necklace.  Not sure I'm going to keep that Tassel. A drop might do better, we will see.   Jump over to    http://artbeadscene.blogspot.com   to see what other contributors have created.  Thanks for stopping by.

Dreaming Tree Challenge

Today is the reveal for the Dreaming Tree Challenge.  I'm so late. I could't get the pictures to up load right side up. All of a sudden My Phone Camera has a top and bottom and I don't know which end is up.  SMH
Dreaming Tree challenge is sponsored by Andrew Thornton of  Allegory Gallery in PA.  He puts together about 20 of these kits for sale and you are challenged to create and then participate in a blog hop.
Included in this kit is a full strand of fluorite chip, a baggie of Dreaming Tree Luxury Bead Blend, waxed Irish linen, vintage lucite, African glass, crystal, vintage Czech glass, Czech glass, vintage plastic, and fluorite.
I was truley challenged all I kept seeing was earring pairs. So I started with these dangly earrings with Leverbacks from   www.bsueboutiques.com and Flourite, Amethyst chips, Czech beads and seed beads from the kit

Then a dangly chain (exscuse the Photo) to match. I used beads and chips from the kit, added some hand wired  spiral elements for chain and glass Spectra beads to add and form a tassel.
Next I went into my private stash of goodness that I have from Bsue's where I found one of my favorite Vintage pieces of Brass, a Luggage tag.  I colorized the tag to match the handcrafted Tree of life focal made by Andrew attatched them together.
I love how this piece came out. I added a hand formed chain using the beads in the kit and made another pair of earrings.
Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment, then visit all the other participants listed below.  Remember that "Old is new again"

The challenge for me were those tiny multi colored disk beads. So I began to lay things out

Designs started formulating.  I wanted a long Necklace and found this beautiful focal bead that matched all that glass. Well I needed a tassel and the orange tear drops would work.Might also make a couple of pair of earrings from those teardrops.

We're All Ears July Challenge

Welcome to We're All Ears July Challenge Blog Hop. Sponsored by the Earrings Everyday blog.   This Month we were given  Primitive Folk Art quilts like this one made by women in India as our inspiration.
From my stash I chose a pair of Copper sticks enameled in Red, Blue, with Marigold accents. These sticks were hand made by Cathleen Zaring .  I attached these sticks with Vintage Brass non tarnished copper wire to Czech glass flowers in Curry and Bordeaux coloring.  (Hope I spelled that right) very colorful with an explosion of colors like the Quilt.

Thanks for joining me and hop over to the
