This Months Inspiration made me think also of January Birthstone Garnets. A Rich Bordeaux. So I gathered my supplies of Brass, Beads, glass pearls Swarovski crystals, seed beads and glass floral bead caps.
I made my dangles and wire wrapped those Rustic beads and Vintage Brass Beads into these Light weight flirty pieces.
I was not thrilled when Pantone chose Marsala as color of the year. The actual chart seemed a little washed out and bland. I have seen designers using garnets and shades of Burgundy as interprettions so its growing on me. We will see as we journey through the year. I do however adore how these earrings came out. Like I always say "wear Vintage, It's new again"
Gloria, they ARE flirty. These earrings will not only turn heads, but they will captivate after that first ensnaring glance. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kindness Susan.
DeleteLovely colour combinations especially against the brass beads. Very flirty indeed, I feel like dancing now! xx
ReplyDeleteFiona don't you just love when Jewely makes you smile or wanna dance, Im with you.
DeleteTerrific design! Great contrasts with the colors and metals.
ReplyDeleteHi Terri; kind words, keep me inspired thank you!
DeleteLove long dangly earrings with wraps and parts that move. You're not the first person I've heard say the palette looks washed out. And that it's growing on them. It doesn't grab most people the way vibrant colors do, but if you let it sink it, you can find ways to work with it. Exactly as you did. ;)
ReplyDeleteTammy its a challenge, I am going to try some more of those muted colors in my Build a line Challenge, in case someone needs to match a new summer skirt or dress this summe, lol. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI agree with you about the colors. Marsala is difficult to interpret also.
ReplyDeleteI like the vintage brass beads you used in these earrings. They are a nice touch and I bet keep the earrings nice and light. Gives them that flirty look
ReplyDelete:-)
Yum! I like the layers and how you used the metal! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about this color palette. I love the earrings you created. The green really pops! Very nice balance and design. These will be such fun to wear.
ReplyDeleteGloria, great choice of beads! I love that you added some green color to the design! Looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis was not a color that I would have thought of for the year (I was hungering for a deep blue myself), but like you, it is growing on me, particularly in deeper shades of garnet, bordeaux and burgundy. I like the bright pop of green in these earrings. Reminds me of grapes on a vine. Thanks for joining in the We're All Ears challenge for January. Check back on February 6th for the next inspiration! Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteFun earrings! I never would have thought to add that bright pop of green to your other materials but it works!
